Well - there will be lots of suggestions on this question - I agree with Hogryder 100% but the reality is not usually quite that.
In 1984 - I put my TC250 Suzuki away - and I must have thought I would ride it again the next year because when I next got it out in 1997 there was gas in the tank. The storage was much longer than anticipated. The only prep was to pull the battery and cover her with a drop cloth - an old cotton sheet.
I complete agree with storage inside, battery recharged - tarp cover not plastic - but in my experience - and I have been putting my tc250 away for over 30 years - sometimes for periods as short as 10 months others for periods as long at 13 years - and it has always started on the second or third kick - the " storage issue is hugely overrated.
My tires are not flatten from sitting -yes it does have a center stand which takes the weight -
The critical thing has already been accomplished. You are concious that the bike is going into storage and as such that you will be taking some precautions with it.
My Savage went into the garage with a full tank and the oil topped up. No cover beause it is inside. The battery sits on a wooden bench - it will get a charge before it goes back in next May.
Protect your bike as best you can - the manuals have some suggestions and there will be lots of advice here.
Make it a good day
